The full title of this print is " Entree des Francais Dans Livourne le 11 Messidor An 4." Messidor was the 10th month in the French Republican calendar, in use from 1793 to 1805. The year "An 4" equates to 1795. The title translates as "The Entry of the French into Livorno". Livorno is an Italian port a few miles south of Pisa on Italy's west coast.
This print is after the drawing by Carle Vernet, engraved by Duplessi - Berteaux, and published by Danbrun. This was an incident in Napoleon's invasion of Italy. Mounted. Unframed.
