An antique stipple engraving of Queen Caroline of Brunswick, who was Queen of England for only a year from 1820, until her death in 1821. In 1795 she had married the George, who was then the Prince Regent, unaware that he had already secretly married Mrs Fitzherbert. She was far more popular with the public than her husband, as they felt that she had been treated badly by him.
Published by G Smeeton circa 1824, in his publication Portraits of Eminent Characters.
