An antique, hand coloured, steel engraving of The Monument in central London, published around 1828. The Monument to the Great Fire of London, more commonly known simply as the Monument, is a Doric column in London, situated near the northern end of London Bridge. it stands not far from the spot in Pudding Lane where the Great Fire started in1666. The Monument was finished in 1677, 11 years after the fire.
