An antique hand coloured, steel engraving of the new National Gallery, published in circa 1858.
It was founded in 1824, and the present building, the third to house the National Gallery, was designed by William Wilkins from 1832 to 1838, and this what we see in this print. The facade onto Trafalgar Square remains unchanged from this time, although the actual building has been expanded several times.
Mounted. Unframed.
Print size: 10.5cm x 7.5cm
