John Ogilby's 'ribbon map' of the road from London to Rye, published in his Atlas of the Roads entitled 'Britannia', issued first in 1675.
This is a first edition with hand colours of some age, but not original colouring.
This is the first ever road atlas of England and Wales, and the first to use the Statute Mile of 1760 yards. It was indeed a ground breaking work.
